I want to sell my horse/pony as Sound. What are the terms of selling a horse sound?
Please check the Terms & Conditions of Sale

How do I consign my Horse/Pony to the sale?
Consignments are accepted over the phone, please call The Eyler Stables at (301) 271-5340. Horses are sold in the order consigned. We need to know the breed, age, sex, height & color of your horse. Also is your horse registered? If your horse is registered, you need to bring original registration papers and transfers if applicable. The horse must be registered in your name or back transfers must match up before the horse can be sold with papers. We need to know if your horse will sell sound or "As is". All horses/ponies consigned to the sale will have a coggins test drawn, even if they already have a current test. Blood will be drawn at the purchaser's expense ($22 per test).

When do I get paid if I sell my horse/pony Sound?
Please check the Terms & Conditions of Sale

How should I prepare my horse for the sale?/What Should I bring to the Sale?
If you plan to ride your horse at the sale, bring tack. You will need to leave a halter on each horse sold. Bring a bucket to water your horse. Prepare your horse as you would for the most important show you will ever attend. Pay attention to details: pull or braid/band mane, wash and comb out the tail, trim or shoe your horse, clip ears, muzzle, bridle path, fetlocks, etc. Present your horse as clean and well groomed as possible. If your horse is broke to ride, select the best tack that you own and be sure that all items of tack are clean and fit properly. A well turned out animal will attract more attention and potentially sell for more money than one that is in poor condition, dirty, or not trimmed or shod.

I need help getting my horse ready or I need someone to ride for me
Call The Eylers Stables to see if there will be anyone available to assist you. For a fee, a rider or groom may be employed to help you. This service is not always available. It is wise to check in advance and not wait until you get to the sale to "hunt" for some help!

Large quantities of tack and or livestock can be accommodated at any of our sales. Advance notice is required. Please contact Niki Eyler to discuss your particular needs.

My horse has extensive show record, is an exceptional individual (excellent bloodlines, champion or champion producer, etc.) How can I get the most money for him at the sale?
By working with The Eyler Stables, we can market your horse via our Internet Web-Page, classified and periodical advertising. The more lead-time you provide, the more exposure we can give your horse. Given enough notice and provided you have a professional photo of your horse, we can scan the photo and add it along with information about the horse to our Web-Site. Call Niki Eyler to discuss selling your horse.

I need to sell my horse/pony now. Can you help?

Yes, if you can get your items to The Eyler Stables we will be happy to make you an offer on your items. You may call to make an appointment.

How do I consign Saddles, Tack, etc. to the sale?
Bring your items to the sale. Register for a seller's number in the office (located inside the sale barn). There is a limited amount of time, 6:00-8:30 PM allocated to tack and saddle sales, therefore you should arrive early to consign your items. If your items are not sold during the auction and you want to sell them that night, ask for Niki Eyler. We will make you an offer to purchase your items.

Is food available at the sale?
Yes, there is food service during the sale. Drinks, soup, sandwiches, chips, pies, cake, cookies, and other homemade menu items are available. Prices are reasonable (examples: $1.50 for a bowl of homemade soup, $2.00 for homemade pork bar-b-q). The food is very good!
